Minutes from Comenius project meeting
Kirkevolle Skoll, Norway
Friday 15th November 2013

Present
All partner schools

·         Sian introduced the meeting – purpose being to recap what has been done and what still needs to be completed.
·         Sian extended thanks to Bente and Trine for their fabulous hospitality during our stay and visit to the school. All parties agreed.
·         Each partner school gave a short introduction to their school for the benefit of the Turkish school who were not present at the prep visit in Wales.
·         We looked at the plan for Year 1, very little will change. All school should now be making Christmas decorations and cards for other partners. Please remember holiday cards for Turkey, rather than Christmas.
·         This term, please also upload any photographs of sporting activities your school has taken part in.
·         Parent involvement – Please ensure this is happening. For example, Wales have sent home 2 letters to parents and have posted information on the school website.
·         Focus of next term’s work is ‘language’. Every school will make a leaflet of places that can be visited in their region. Each school to produce 4 leaflets on 4 places – including costs, ease of access, how to get there, a short description etc.
·         These should be produced on the computer. You will need to bring 6 copies of each leaflet to the next visit.
·         Confirmed dates for visit to Poland – Wednesday 26th to Sunday 30th March 2014. Could Poland please confirm airport with the partners after Christmas so flights can be booked?
·         France visit changed and confirmed as Wednesday 21st to Sunday 25th May 2014.
·         We discussed a possible change to the Germany visit during the Autumn term 2014 to nearer Christmas so we can enjoy the festivities that occur at that time of year.
·         Thomas showed the meeting the blog created for our project. He demonstrated how to log on. Please use:
user name ‘oureuropeanjigsaw’
password ‘whereeverypieceisimportant’
·         Everyone should log in by the end of term and uploaded something.
·         Sian thanked Thomas for all his work in creating this.
·         The blog is public so work and photographs should be regulated.
·         Skype rota – as Lithuania dropped out of the project, Wales will take over the coordination of a video conference rota. It should work out that over the 2 years, all partners should have Skyped each other. France need to sort out the logistics of this due to being unable to download and use Skype – possibly use FaceTime instead??
·         Sian will identify opportunities when a whole group Skype can be done over the project duration.
·         Could everyone please try and Skype before the end of the school term?
·         Sian asked that everyone has a back up person in their school that can take over in case of emergency. Sian will send out a list of key contacts to everyone so we have an updated list.
·         We exchanged work and flags (and gifts). Germany need to send flags out to partners by Christmas.
·         All schools need to set up their classroom ‘Comenius corners / display boards’ in December – or by the end of January at the latest. Each school should also have a central display board for all visitors to see.
·         Certificates of attendance were given out.
·         AOB – Sian confirmed Anne’s email address, as there has been some confusion with this.
·         AOB – Please ensure you have a mascot with you on every trip and has photos taken.

Thanks, we look forward to meeting up again in Poland next year!
